Born in the UK, Gary Ryan is a confirmed master of the classical guitar and world-renowned for his innovative guitar compositions which have created a brand new repertoire and helped develop and lead the instrument into the 21st century.
His numerous recent performance collaborations with guitar legends John Williams and John Etheridge, as part of 6 Hands, have firmly established Gary Ryan as one of Britain’s most distinguished guitarists. In 2013 he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Music, London, (where he is Professor of Guitar) by Prince Charles, the first classical guitarist to receive this honour since John Williams in 1983.
It is Gary Ryan’s superb and unrivalled all-round musicianship that makes him such a unique concert artist. Equally at home in classical, jazz and contemporary musical worlds, he is able to turn his hand to a dazzling array of skills (he is also an accomplished pianist) and his warm sense of humour is always a delight to audiences of all ages. Gary has recorded several best-selling albums and published a wealth of compositions which are very popular amongst guitarists all over the world.

For six consecutive years, under the superb Artistic Directorship of classical guitarist, Gary Ryan, KLH Artists’ Management had the pleasure to promote and coordinate the unique Guitar France International Summer School in the glorious setting of château Hôtel de Ville’s arboretum, overlooking the picturesque spa town of Bagnoles de l’Orne, Normandy, France.
This popular course, hosted by the exceptional and inspiring teaching team of guitar maestros, Gary Ryan (UK), Craig Ogden (Australia) and Gordon Dunn (UK), gave students the chance to regularly perform, socialise in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and enter the hotly contested annual Pétanque competition!
Students, many returning year after year, were also treated to the tutor’s Gala Concert at the town’s Centre d’Animation and all who came particularly enjoyed the chance to spend some special time dedicated to the guitar, mixing with fellow enthusiasts in a holiday-like setting and enjoying the company some of the world’s greatest guitarists.
